The game save topic is far and away the most reported and commented on recent topic on the Xbox Bug Reporting forum page. While Hinterland have boldly stickied to the top of their Xbox One bug reporting forum the announcement that the save issue for v.256-v.271 had been fixed, there seem to be just as many or more users reporting the same game save issue with ensuing updates (currently on v.282). One user stated that his save reverted from day 128 to day 97, detailing all the progress he had lost because of the reversion. Users on Hinterland's forums are reporting their game saves are reverting back days to saves from much earlier in their runs. A good deal of gamers who play The Long Dark on the Xbox One are reporting having trouble keeping the progress they have made in the game.
